Supreme Court grants parole to Sahara Group chief Subroto Roy

Incarcerated Sahara Group chief Subroto Roy has been granted a four week parole by the Supreme Court on Friday.

The parole was also granted to Roy to attend the last rites of his mother, who died on Thursday.

Roy's son-in-law, Ashok Roy Choudhary has also been granted parole for the same reason and for the same period.

It is to be mentioned here that  Subroto Roy was in jail for over two years as he could not comply the orders of top court.

Incarcerated Sahara Group chief's group companies namely Sahara India Real Estate Corporation (SIRECL) and Sahara Housing Investment Corporation Ltd (SHICL) failed to return the amounts to its investors.
