Sonia, Rahul & Manmohan released after courting arrest during 'Save Democracy' March
Congress high command mainly AICC President Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh have been detained for a brief period and later released.
The Congress , while protesting against the NDA government and its actions towards Congress-ruled states of Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh , on Friday launched the march in the name of 'Save Democracy March'.
As 144 section was imposed, police stopped the march of the Congress leaders, who have marched from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House.
It is the Parliament Street police station, which courted arrest to them and were reportedly released after 30 minutes.
Party senior leaders A.K. Antony(Former union defence minister),leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge, were among those who courted arrest.
