Lepakshi festival concludes on a grand note

The Lepakshi festival in the Anantpur district has concluded on a grand note on Sunday.

The two-day annual festival has been witnessed by Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu, Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao, Karnataka Housing Minister Ambarish, his wife Sumalata and film actor M Mohan Babu.

Needless to say that actor turned politician i.e Hindupuram MLA Balakrishna was the star attraction of the festival, as he was the main person to conduct the festival with the assistance of state government.

Actor and MLA Balakrishna played the role of Sri Krishnadevaraya, who was king of Vijayanagara empire, in a skit performed during the closing event.

He was supported by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna and comedian Prudhviraj.

Several film personalities including veteran actresses Sharada and Jamuna were felicitated on the occasion.

Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao lauded Balakrishna for organising the Lepakshi Utsav in a sporting manner.

Actress Shobana mesmerized audience with her classical dance.
