Crane Collapse at Mecca's Grand Mosque Kills 107

A horrific incident took place on Friday in the Saudi city of Mecca, Islam's holiest site, during a violent rainstorm.

It has been reported that a towering construction crane toppled over people claiming the lives of 107 people and injuring many.

The fearful incident took place ahead of the start of the annual hajj pilgrimage later this month. In the social networking sites, some of the images have been posted by social media users.

The images have been showing a grisly scene, with police and onlookers attending to numerous victims bodies, that have been lying amid pools of blood on the polished mosque floors
