India has shown its humanity extending all sorts of help to Nepal & India earthquake victims


 India has been continuing its relief measures operation to save the victims hit by earthquake in Nepal. So far, around 5,400 Indians have been brought back from quake-hit Nepal.

Earthquake, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale in Nepal on Saturday has left over 3,800 people dead and 6,500 injured.

Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar has been monitoring relief measures in the affected areas of Nepal.  He said that aged, the injured and women and children will be given first priority and brought back in their home soil .

It is reported that several medical teams have been sent to Nepal and pressed into service. As far as relief measures are concerned , India has so far sent 22 tons of food packets and dry rations.

 In  addition with that 50 tonnes of mineral water, two tonnes of medicines, 40 tents and 1,400 blankets have also been arranged

 A road has been established from Kathmandu to Pokhra and satellite communication link has been formed between the Nepal Army headquarters and Indian Army engineer task force by Indian Army.

Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh, while  speaking in the Lok Sabha has given assurance that India will extend all possible help to Nepal as it treats Nepal as part of  family. He said that India is with people of Nepal in this crisis.

Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari said the house has extended  solidarity with the people of Nepal.

Indian  Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has announced donation of  one month's salary to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. The fund will be utilised for those  affected in India by the earthquake that devastated Nepal.

A compensation of Rs.6 lakh each  has been announced for the families of the people, who were killed in the earthquake that shook parts of India on Saturday.

 Rs.50,000 is also being provided for the seriously injured people as part of compensation amount.
