Earthquake devastates Nepal & cities and towns of Andhra Pradesh



The earthquake, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale has hit Nepal on Saturday.

The earthquake had its epicentre in Lamjung district which is situated around 75 km northwest of capital Kathmandu.

Nepal home ministry has released the statement which stated that the devastated earthquake has killed 500 people.It may also also rise as the casualties are concerned,the statement said.

As per the reports, it is learnt that the maximum deaths have been witnessed in Sindhupalchowk district where 80 people have lost their lives.

Some of the monuments of historical importance like Dharhara and Basantapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square have lost its identities that were destroyed by the tremors.

The Nepalese government has declared emergency arising out of national crisis and disaster and established a fund of 500 million Nepali rupees (about $4 million) for the reconstruction of the damaged infrastructures.

The tremor have also bean experiences in India, Tibet, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The earthquake that devastated Nepal, has also hit several cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh like  Vijayawada, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Thulluru, Srikakulam, Vizianagara, Visakhapatnam and other regions.

Reports said that cracks have developed in some buildings and the people were seen running out of their houses, buildings and offices gripped in fear.


However there were no reports of damage or casualties and more details awaited.
