Chandrababu unveils first India-made smartphone



Visakhapatnam, Aug 10: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today unveiled Xiaomi's first India-manufactured smartphone in Visakhapatnam.

Xiaomi has responded to Chandrababu's “Make in India” and  “Make in Andhra Pradesh” campaign during latter's tour of China in the first half of year and signed a MOU to produce phones in the State.

China-based Xiaomi Inc is the world's third largest smartphone company. According to a study, India will become the world's second largest smartphone market after China by 2017.









Addressing on the occasion, Chief Minister said that AP is one state, where his government can create one of the excellent eco-system for hardware manufacturing. He has expressed happiness with government's association with Xiaomi, a Chinese low-cost smartphone manufacturer.
