Cancel your train tickets by just dialling 139

Railway passengers can cancel their confirmed tickets easily by means of a simple process.

By just dialling to the number 139, they can cancel their booked tickets.

A person who is looking for the cancellation and to get back their refund money, one has to dial 139 and give details such as PNR number and train number of the confirmed ticket.

A one time password(OTP) will be generated and it will reach the mobile number of the railway passenger looking for cancellation.

The person will get back the refund, after showing the OTP at Railway reservation counter .

One can also cancel their confirmed tickets by using the IRCTC website.

As strict rules are made for refund , a lot of passengers were losing much money as they were finding it difficult to reach counters to cancel the reserved tickets within the stipulated time.

Union railways minister Suresh Prabhu, after launching the service said that this is an attempt to make cancellation of tickets easier for the public.
