Highest Saudi civilian honour conferred on PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Gulf kingdom Saudi Arabia has witnessed five agreements between two countries.

On the second and final day, the PM was felicitated and honoured with highest Saudi civilian honour.

The honour is named after founder of the modern Saudi state, Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Vikas Swarup, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs, India has tweeted on the issue.

His tweets read thus -'In a special gesture, PM @narendramodi was conferred Saudi Arabia's highest civilian honour, the King Abdulaziz Sash'.

It is to be mentioned here that US President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are other notable recipients of this honour earlier.
