Ration cards will no longer be identity proof in Telangana
Telangana government led by its chief minister K Chandra Shekhar has shocked Below Poverty Line (BPL) families as it took decision to de-link the ration card for availing various welfare schemes.
Ration cards in Telangana state will be valid only to get rations and will no longer be considered a document to ascertain BPL status.
The Telangana government on Monday has made it clear while issuing a GO on it.
Telangana government has given a big blow to BPL families as the Telangana government has taken the decision immediately, without any secondary thought.
With the de-linking , Ration cards will not be valid for claiming Aarogyasri, 2-BHK housing scheme, fee reimbursement scheme, scholarships etc.
