Rahul Gandhi issued notice by Parliamentary Ethics Panel
A showcase notice has been issued by the Parliamentary Ethics Panel committee to AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi to explain,whether he declared himself of British citizen during his stay in the UK.
Ethics Committee chairman Arjun Ram Meghwal said it was an important issue, and they would take a decision after receiving Rahul's reply.
BJP senior leader Subramaniam Swamy, last year wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing Rahul Gandhi for a floating a company and asked him to cancel his citizenship and MP post.
Subramaniam Swamy also wrote a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha about the issue of Rahul Gandhi's citizenship reiterating his demand in the matter.
It is to be mentioned here that after scrutinising the letter by Dr Subramaniam Swamy, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan sent the letter to the Ethics Committee.
