Surat gets the rank of cleanest railway station -Survey

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) survey has come out with the results on cleanliness parameters that was conducted during January-February this year.

As part of PM Narendra Modi’s pet project ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan’, feedback from around 1.34 lakh passengers have been taken.

407 railway stations were covered up as part of the survey . It included 75 A-1 stations and 332 A-category stations.

The survey placed Surat at the top as the cleanest railway station in the country, followed by Rajkot and Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh).

The survey that was conducted among the A-category stations, found the places as such . The cleanest railway stations under this category are Beas (Punjab), Gandhidham (Gujarat), Vasco Da Gama (Goa), Jamnagar (Gujarat), Kumbakonam (Tamil Nadu) and Nasik Road (Maharashtra).

A-category stations means whose revenue is in between Rs. 6 crore and Rs. 50 crore.

It is to be mentioned here that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi's railway station has been ranked at 65 in terms of cleanliness
