AP legislators, MLCs salaries to be hiked
Following the Telangana Assembly passing a bill to hike legislator's salaries and allowances including the Chief Minister, Speaker, deputy Speaker of Assembly, Council of Ministers, chairman and deputy chairman of Legislative Council, Leader of Opposition in Assembly and Council, Government Whips, MLAs and MLCs, ,similar demands have been made by legislators in Andhra Pradesh .
Andhra Pradesh Assembly has also approved hiking of the salaries close on the heels of Telangana legislators and others.
The Bill regarding the hiked salaries has been tabled by the committee concerned, in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly today.
The salaries of members of Legislative Assembly and Council will increase from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1.50 lakh.
Their House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be doubled from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000
