 5th Beatle George Martin dies at 90

George Martin, the British music producer, who was instrumental in turning the Beatles in to global stars, died at the age of 90, Ringo Star, the band's drummer said.

He passed away peacefully at home yesterday evening,according to his Career Artist Management.

Star posted the news on Twitter with a message of peace.

The legendary music producer was born in London on January 3rd, 1926.

He began playing piano at an young age and joined the Royal Navy in 1943.

 He worked in the classical music department of BBC.

British Prime Minister David Cameron heaped praise on him and called Mr. Martin 'a giant of music'.

It is to be mentioned here that Martin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

He got the fame three years after he was knighted, in 1996.
