Chiranjeevi shoots a letter to AP CM over Kapu community protest
Congress Rajya Sabha member, Megastar Chiranjeevi has written an open letter to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stating that if he was sincere on the issue of Backward Class status to the Kapus in Coastal Andhra he should pass a resolution in this regard in the State Assembly.
At the same time, the Megastar said the government must stop the divide and rule policy, exploiting the Kapu sentiments and setting one community against the other.
He said the lack of a policy by the TDP government had led to the Tuni violence.
Chiranjeevi stated the Tuni incident had caused him much distress. It was unfortunate that certain political and societal incidents were causing distress to the people of the State.
He warned that if the election promises were not implemented, not just the Kapus but also the people belonging to various sections such as women and farmers might also resort to an agitational path.
He said government is functioning without transparency in various important issues such as construction of Amaravati
He concluded the letter demanding immediate reservations for the Kapus.
Significantly, Megastar and his broher, Powerstar Pavan Kalyan, had spoken from the same script on the Kapus' issue.
