Another TDP MLA under ACB scanner in cash-for-vote scam

TDP MLA of Jubilee Hills constituency Maganti Gopinath on Thursday alleged that the TRS in Telangana was browbeating him to join the ruling party or face foisting of cases on him.

The ACB wing of Telangana state, which is probing the cash-for-vote case,  reportedly found link to Gopinath.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation TDP president's name is said to have come to the fore during the investigation.

Already there were reports that the ACB was preparing to arrest him in connection with Anglo-Indian Stephenson's Notes-for-vote case either today or tomorrow.

Addressing the newsmen, Gopinath alleged that a conspiracy against him has been hatched out and some section of people are trying to defame him and threaten him linking with the case.

Gopinath reiterated that he had nothing to do with Stephenson's case.

He said there was no question of his yielding to any kind of threats.

The MLA said he was born in the TDP and would last in the Telugu Desam Party. He would never yield to TRS machinations.

The TDP MLAs strength in Hyderabad has been dwindling.

Two MLAs had quit the party and joined the TRS on Wednesday.

The TDP is now left with the lone MP from Malkajgiri, Malla Reddy, and two MLAs, including Gopinath, in Hyderabad.
