TRS emerges victorious in GHMC polls



TRS emerged victorious as the results for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections held on February 2 announced on Friday.

The TRS has achieved a clean sweep winning 99 out of 150 seats.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao,popularly known as KCR said after the results that GHMC elections should be an eye-opener to opposition parties.

The chief minister said that with this win, responsibility has fallen more on the government and his government is committed to fulfill the concerns of people as part of their promise.

All the election promises would be fulfilled with 100 % committment,KCR added.

Further KCR said that his government would deal the law and order issues with an iron hand.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) 99

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) 44

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 4

It is to be mentioned here that there are 1,333 candidates in the fray for 150 divisions with 50 percent seats reserved for women.

As per the media reports, 75 lakh voters have casted their vote at 7,802 polling stations.
