APSRTC Plans to Introduce Cargo Services



Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation( APSRTC ) , apart from earning ticket revenue from the passengers, it is now focusing on commercial earnings by introducing different services.

The APSRTC , that owns reportedly a fleet of 12,000 buses is making plans to launch cargo service in coming days .

 It has been reported that focus would be on improving passenger amenities and service under the new Motors and Vehicle act.

Under the fleet replacement plan for 2016-17, the corporation intends to replace many super luxury, deluxe, express and Telugu Velugu buses.

RTC Managing Director N Sambasiva Rao said that they are planning to invite Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to inaugurate the new services.

 He said that RTC would introduce cargo services in 2016 as there was good demand for courier service in the State.

He further said the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 should be amended to introduce cargo services in RTC services.
