Plea filed in high court against Sanjay Dutt's early release
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is all set to walk out from prison on February 27 as part of early release has been objected by some section of people.
A petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court, that has sought to restrain Maharashtra government from releasing Bollywood actor .
In the petition, it was mentioned that the state government allowed remission of the actor's sentence by 18 months against the original sentence.
Pradeep Bhalekar, the petitioner, alleges that Dutt is getting a favour.
The petitioner demanded that there are 27,740 others prisoners in the state who deserve to be released on the same ground.
Maharashtra governor Vidya Sagar Rao had earlier rejected petition filed by former Supreme court judge Markandey Katju seeking pardon for Actor Sanjay Dutt in illegal possession of arms, related to 1993 Mumbai blasts.
It is to be mentioned here that Sanjay Dutt was convicted for illegal possession of an automatic assault rifle, a part of cache of arms and ammunition that landed ahead of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
