No cockfights in AP -High Court
High Court has notified that there should be no cockfights in Andhra Pradesh (AP), whether or not it is the festival season.
It was responding to a petition by People's For Animals (PFA) to stop cockfights.
The AP government submitted an affidavit, stating the action being taken against the organisers of cockfights.
The petitioners said that they would cooperate with the police and see to it that no cockfights are conducted.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Raghurama Krishnam Raju said that the court has only accepted the AP government affidavit banning cockfights, but has not passed any order against organised cock fights.
