Non Bailable Arrest Warrant Against MS Dhoni
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been leading the Indian cricket team in Australia for a limited-overs series has made the news for a wrong reason.
The Cricketer was issued a non-bailable warrant by a local court at Anantpur in Andhra Pradesh for his controversial magazine cover that showed MS Dhoni posing as Hindu god Vishnu.
India's limited-overs captain was seen on the cover of a magazine in April 2013 in an objectionable manner which is reportedly against the religious sentiments.
The picture depicted him in a bad taste .
He was seen like a Hindu deity endorsing a lot of products, including a shoe.
The Anantpur local court has MS asked Dhoni to appear before February 25.
The said legal move took place following a petition filed by a local Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Shyam Sunder, who faulted the portrayal of Dhoni saying that it hurts Hindu sentiments.
However from MS Dhoni's management, it came to know that Dhoni had nothing to do with the picture as he has not posed for the picture in that manner, nor he was aware of such developments.
On the other hand, Dhoni will be busy in Australia until January 31 for an ODI and T20I series and Indian team playing against Sri Lanka for three T20s and also travel to Bangladesh for Asia Cup T20
including World T20 cup in March.
