Marxist Veteran and CPI national leader AB Bardhan passes away
Veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader A B Bardhan passed away.
He was 92 years old.
Bardhan rushed to a hospital in New Delhi on Monday after he complained uneasiness and lost consciousness at party headquarters Ajoy Bhavan where he lived.
Bardhan, who was former CPI General Secretary, was admitted in the intensive care unit and treated by doctors.
Bardhan, who was one of the tallest leaders, demise is a great loss to the nation.
He’s considered as the stalwart of the Communist Party of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, CPM present general secretary Sitaram Yechury and former general secretary Prakash Karat, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu have condoled Bardhan's death.
It is to be mentioned here that Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan, well-known as AB Bardhan, was born on Sep 24, 1924 in Bengal Presidency of British India (Now Bangladesh).
Bardhan’s wife ,who was a professor in Nagpur University, died in the year 1986.
The couple has a son and a daughter.
