Actors' body denies Radhika charge in Simbu case

Tamil actress Radhika has alleged that the Vela Natigara Sangham is not helping Simbu in the Beep Song (with alleged abusive, misogynist lyrics) case. The Sangham has, however, rejected denial of help to Simbu and said it has already spoken to the singer-actor in this regard.

The Natigara Sangham was unhappy with Radhika's remarks. On the contrary, it said it would be issuing a show-cause notice to the actress on account of her charge. It would also demand an explanation from her.

Revealing that Simbu had told them that he would on his own settle the court case filed against him by Dalit organisations, the Natigar Sangham said it was their policy to support every member in the South Indian acting fraternity.

Since the filing of the case, Simbu has been eluding the police even as the police have a spread dragnet for him in the entire Chennai and Kovai areas. The music composer for the Beep score, Anirudh, is said to be in Canada. Both face arrest in the epithet-filled song case.
