South Asian Games logo, mascot unveiled in Guwahati
The logo and mascot of the 12th South Asian Games, 2016 (OC SAG) was unveiled by the Organising Committee .
The unveiling function was held at the ITA Cultural Center Machkhowa. The prestigious function was attended by state CM Tarun Gogoi, Union sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Meghalaya's sports minister Zenith Sangma.
It has been reported that the North Eastern cities of Guwahati and Shillong will be jointly hosting the Games from February 6-16, 2016.
There are reports that about 4,500 athletes and officials from eight nations are expected to participate in 23 events during 10-day long event.
The logo comprises of eight petals moving in a clockwise direction ,representing the countries that are participating in the 12th South Asian Games, said the media reports.
'Tikhor' is the name of the Mascot for the Games, which literally and reportedly means sharp, naughty, sporty and modern.
