Veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey passes away






According to reports, veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey, who has entertained many people appearing in several Bollywood as well as British movies has passed away on November 15. He was 86.

According to a statement from Jaffrey Associates, the actor has reportedly collapsed at his London home from a brain haemorrhage and it led to his death.

He is one of the finest actors people have seen and he will always be remembered for his unique dialogue delivery style.

Saeed Jaffrey's niece Shaheen Aggarwal has shared the news on her Facebook account.

Saeed Jaffrey  won the Filmfare Award for the film, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, in the Best Supporting Actor category.

Jaffrey was known for portraying his versatile roles in films like Gandhi, Chashme Buddoor, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Henna, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Dil, A Passage to India and The Man Who Would Be King .

The actor has also passion towards several television shows, The Jewel in the Crown, such as Gangsters, Tandoori Nights and Coronation Street.


The actor has also worked with some of the famous Hollywood actors like Ben Kingsley, Richard Attenborough, Pierce Brosnan and Ingrid Bergman.

There are reports that actor Jaffrey had been married twice. He married actress and travel writer Mehrunima (Madhur Jaffrey) in 1958 but the couple reportedly separated in 1965 due to some differences.

Second time, Jaffery married casting director Jennifer Sorrell in 1980 . He is survived by three daughters namely Meera, Zia, and Sakina Jaffrey. Sakina is an actress.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, director Shekhar Kapur among others condoled over the actor's death on Twitter.
