Flipkart opens its largest warehouse in Hyderabad
Flipkart, E-commerce giant has announced the launch of its largest fulfillment centre in Telangana. With this total number of its warehouses in the country has risen to 17.
Telangana Finance Minister E. Rajender has inaugurated Flipkart's largest fulfilment centre at Gundla Pochampally on the city outskirts i.e in Medchal Mandal of neighbouring Ranga Reddy district in the state that is spreading over 220,000 square feet and holds storage capacity of 5.89 lakh cubic ft
Co-founder and COO Binny Bansal on the occasion said that they are excited to open their largest fulfillment centre in Telangana.
He said that company Flipkart plans to invest $2 billion (roughly Rs. 13,067 crores) in logistics and another $500 million (roughly Rs. 3,266 crores) in a nationwide warehouse network over the next four to five years.
It has been reported that the new facility would create over 17,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities within the area.
It is to be mentioned here that Flipkart, with a current headcount of 33,000, has 45 million registered users.
