OU docs perform rare liver surgery; first in India
Doctors at Osmania Hospital, Hyderabad performed a rare liver surgery called, Autologous Transplantation of Liver, on Nagaraju, a 24-year-old patient from Khammam.
He had been suffering from a rare disease since childhood and needed a live transplant.
His parents being poor, could not afford the Rs. 30 to 40 lakhs quoted by private doctors.
Finally, they arrived at OU, where after waiting for two months for a donor, doctors performed the rare surgery.
