Red alert at Shamshabad airport
Hyderabad, Aug 03: A red alert has been sounded at the Rajeev Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad here today in the wake of intelligence reports warning of terror attacks. Security was beefed up at the airport as there were intelligence inputs about the possible terror attacks during Independence Day celebrations.
The airport management has stopped issuing passes to VIPs and visitors till August 20. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel are manning the airport round the clock. Sharp shooters,bomb squads and sniffer dogs were deployed at the airport. Frisking, scanning, and security has been intensified in view of Independence Day celebrations.
