Woman cheats online
Hyderabad, August 2: CCS cyber crime police arrested a woman for cheating people with her advertisements through olx.com, online classifieds.
In the words of Joint CP Prabhakar Rao, Ifta Jain (42), a home-maker of Krishna Nagar in Umraya district, Madhya Pradesh State gave advertisements in olx.com of selling expensive cameras and iphones for a very cheap price.
Lured by cheaper prices, several people contacted her and deposited money in the bank accounts as suggested by her. Each person deposited Rs 20,000 to Rs 75,000.
Once the amount was credited in the account, she switches off her phone. In this way, she cheated eight persons, including three from Hyderabad.
Acting on their complaint, police filed a case and took her into custody in Madhya Pradesh. They seized her mobile phones.
ACP Anuradha said that online cheating are increasing and suggested the public to be careful and not to deposit amount prior.
