Hyderabad, August 1: Telugu Desam MP JC Diwakar Reddy made a sensational statement that Andhra Pradesh State will never get a special status. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also knew about this, he added.

"I too don't know about this special status. If film actor Pawan Kalyan comes forward to fight for special status, then we all are ready to follow him", JC said.

He made the comments in Vijayawada on Saturday where he came to participate in a TDP meeting.

On the other hand, Union minister and TDP leader Sujana Chowdary said the process of granting special status to AP has started.

A Union Minister's statement that 'special status would not be given to any state' in Lok Sabha on Friday doesn't apply to AP, he said.

Speaking to the media at Vijayawada on Saturday, Chowdary reminded that the State was not divided when Raghurajan committee was formed.

"We are fighting for a special status to AP," he said.

It should be reminded here that Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation Rao Inderjit Singh said in Lok Sabha, "The question of granting special status to any state does not arise."
