Sania Mirza to get Khel Ratna as scheduled
The Sports Ministry's decision to confer the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award on Tennis star Sania Mirza has been challenged by Paralympian HN Girisha, who has filed a petition against it in the Karnataka High Court.
But the Sports ministry officials have confirmed that they will go ahead with their decision and made it clear that Court's notice will not cast any shadow on the awards ceremony on August 29 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The officials said that they will reply to the Court within a stipulated period of time.
