Supreme Court dismisses Vijay Mallya's plea
The Supreme Court of India has rejected the plea of liquor baron Vijay Mallya's plea in a case pertaining to violation of foreign exchange rules, where criminal proceedings have been initiated against him by the Enforcement Directorate.
Justice J S Khehar has also imposed Rs 10 lakh as costs on the UB Group chief Mallya in the case.
It is to be mentioned here that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had alleged that Mallya violated the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) in arranging funds to advertise his liquor products abroad over a decade ago.
