Indian-origin Huma highest paid staffer in US prez campaign

Washington/Hyderabad, July 19: The Indian-origin woman, Huma Abedin is the highest paid employee in Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, 2016. She is being paid Rs 1.75 crore per annum for canvassing in support of Hillary. She received Rs 44 lakh as the wages for the first quarter of the year.

Interestingly, John Podesta, chairman of Clinton campaign team gets Rs 17 lakh only.

Huma has been associated with Hillary for about two decades and one of loyal backers.

Huma's father Syed Zainul Abedin was from Uttar Pradesh. He was a graduate of Aligarh University and university lecturer. Her mother was a Pakistani and a sociology professor.

Huma married to former New York congressman Anthony Weiner. She is currently vice chair of the campaign - 'Hillary for America'. Huma is overseeing the campaign operation and even takes meetings in place of her boss, Hillary Clinton.
