Woman IPS officer caught in a controversy after sharing her picture with a movie actor on social media

Thiruvananthapuram/Hyderabad, July 17: A woman police officer of Kerala was caught in a controversy after sharing her picture with a movie actor on social media.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kerala, Merin Joseph posted a picture which she took with southern actor Nivin Pauly on Facebook. Her happiness with thousands of likes got dashed to the ground with the criticism for not following protocol. She was criticised for taking a photo with movie actor in uniform and posting the same on social media.

Reacting to the media reports, Merin Joseph hit back with a post on Facebook. She wrote that she was a guest and not on official duty at the event. That was taken after the event and when all the dignitaries left the venue. She angrily questioned the media what she was supposed to do after the event was over. 'Jump off the stage? Salute the audience in attention' some of the remarks she
made.

She said Congress MLA Hibi Eden had taken the picture over her request, and after taking the actor's permission. Media will play cheap tricks for their channel's ratings, she alleged.

This is not the first time for the police officer to face controversy. Severe criticism came on her dressing style when she was undergoing IPS training
