IPL Spot fixing: Meiyappan, Kundra banned for life; CSK, RR suspended for two years
The Supreme Court committee headed by RM Lodha has suspended two time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals from the Indian Premier League for two years.
It also proposed a ban on Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra for life from any cricketing activity.
They have been suspended from IPL for betting scandal that hit the T20 tournament in 2013.
Justice Mukul Mudgal in an interaction with media over the IPL verdict said that the verdict was a strong message to wrongdoers to refrain from doing so.
The game of Cricket will come out on top with this verdict.No body is above the law, however high he may be, the justice added.
Further, he said that apex court's verdict will send a strong signal.
