YS Jagan writes to Centre against Palamuru
Hyderabad, June 14: YSRCP chief and Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy has appealed to the Centre to immediately intervene and stop the Telangana government from constructing unauthorized irrigation projects.
In a letter to the Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharathi, Jagan said that Telangana government is constructing Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project on Krishna river against the provisions of AP State Reorganisation Act-2014.
He said the project would hurt the interests of farmers in Rayalaseema, Nellore and Prakasam districts. He reminded that project was not cleared by Central Water Commission and Krishna River Board.
