AP to build 1.32 crore sq ft capital complex

Hyderabad, June 19: The Andhra Pradesh State government will construct a capital complex with an area of 1.32 crore square feet. Sources said that the building will be completed by 2018.

Amaravati capital city will be developed in an area of 271 sq km and the seed capital area will be spread over 16 km.

Officials are taking necessary steps so that buildings look distinct and reflect the culture and heritage of the State.

The area of buildings to be constructed in the capital city complex is as follows: Raj Bhavan- 65,000 sq m, CM secretariat- 15,000 sq m, Legislature-3,35,000 sq m, Secretariat house- 1,70,000 sq m, HC complex- 97,000 sq m and High Court housing- 26,000 sq m.

The State government has so far not finalized financial strategy to develop the capital city.
