Sammakka, Saralamma jatara from Feb. 17
Hyderabad, June 15: The dates of the famous Sammakka, Saralamma jatara have been confirmed. Priests association president Sidhaboyina Jaggarao announced that the four-day jatara will be held from February 17 to 20, 2016.
According to the priest, the festival would commence with the bringing of the goddess Saralamma from Kannepali on February 17 to Medaram.
Pagidigidda Raju from Punugondla and Govindaraju from Kondayi would also be brought the same day.
On February 18, goddess Sammakka will be brought to Medaram from Chilakalagutta. The goddesses will be taken back on February 20, marking the conclusion of the festival.
