Chandrababu Naidu unanimously elected first national president of TDP

 Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been unanimously elected as first national president of the Telugu Desam party as it has been transformed into national party from the regional party.

The Telugu Desam party is 34 years old as it has been witnessing the political scenario since 1995 when the party founder and chief minister of United Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao was in power.

Chandrababu Naidu who led a political revolt against NT Rama Rao became successful taking the charge of Andhra Pradesh. It is his firm dedication and commitment that has made him president of the regional party nine times.

The 34th edition of prestigious event of Mahanadu held at Gandipet in Hyderabad has witnessed political resolution of transformation of of the party as national party.

The resolution has been moved by senior leader and Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and finally Chandrababu Naidu has been unanimously selected as there was no other leader, who filed the nomination for the post.

To acquire the status of national party, the regional party should have its presence in four states.
Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu said that TDP  has presence in both states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Further,he said that party will expand to states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Puducherry, and Andaman and Nicobar.
