Railway Zone for Visakha under consideration,says Suresh Prabhu
Union minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu met Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu today.
The central minister thanked AP CM for the Rajya Sabha representation.
He said that it was decided to form a joint venture company which will look in to the detailed development of railways in Andhra Pradesh (AP).
The Railway Minister said that he was ready to meet the necessities of the State, according to the Chief Minister.
Top priority will be given to connectivity with Amaravati, he said.
The Central minister added that for easy connectivity in the country, Vijayawada was vital.So the Railways were spending Rs 22,000 crore on the projects there.
Also several railway lines and stations in the area will be developed, he said.
The Union Railway minister said that it was the good fortune of Andhra Pradesh that they had Tirupati in their State.
He added that his ministry had started reforms in AP regardless of the zone.
Earlier of the day Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said on Saturday that it was a good augury that Raiway Minister Suresh Prabhu was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.
The chief minister reminded that the Railway Zone matter was mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act.
