AP continues fights with centre over Special Status

After the bifurcation of the state of Andhra Pradesh, the ruling TDP is under constant pressure and attack from opposition for failing to get special status even after passing of nearly two years .

YSR Congress Party chief and the leader of opposition of AP assembly Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy has targeted state chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on the issue saying he is weakening the state's case.

The TDP is still pinning hopes on Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspite of some of the central ministers ruling out that there is no scope of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.

The chief minister , while reacting to all these political movements has expressed resentment and expressed his great displeasure.

The chief minister said that the central government should not only grant special status but should also fulfill other commitments that were announced in Rajya Sabha earlier.

He hoped that the promises made in parliament should be fulfilled as per the AP Reorganisation Act.

Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, while addressing the newsmen in Guntur said that though TDP-BJP are alliance party , but it does not mean that they will be ignored on the issue of special status.

Union Minister Sujana Chowdhary in Vijayawada, while conducting a rally on the occasion of May Day said that his party is co-ordinating with BJP with the hope that it will do justice to the state.The minister said that they are trying all means to fulfill the objectives of state division act.

Sujana Chowdhary also said that he is ready to resign, if his resignation ensures AP special status.
