Sarfraz Ahmed named as the captain of Pakistan’s Twenty20 team.

Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) has named wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed as the captain of Pakistan’s Twenty20 team.

PCB has replaced Shahid Afridi, who earlier resigned from the position after the team's poor performance in the World Twenty20 campaign.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement that Shahid Afridi's term as captain came to an end after the ICC World T20 2016.

The 28-year-old Sarfraz Ahmed was appointed vice captain of ODI and T20 teams last year.

His promotion as team's captain came to the crucial time , when the performance of the team has not been going good.

It is to be mentioned here that Ahmed has so far played 21 Tests in which he has scored 1296 runs at an average of 46.28.

He has played 58 ODI matches in which he scored 1077 runs at an average of 29.91.
