Fortune magazine honours Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been honoured by Fortune magazine as he is named among the world’s 50 greatest leaders.
The Delhi Chief Minister has made news as he is the only one Indian leader on the list.
The magazine lists men and women from the fields of business, government, philanthropy and the arts for transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same.
The other persons of Indian origin in the `World's 50 greatest leaders list' are South Karolina's Indian-American Governor Nikki Haley and another India-American Resham Saujani.
The list is topped by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, although the e-commerce giant is known to be a tough work master.
Pope Francis stands fourth on the list and Tim Cook of Apple fifth.
While Kejriwal ranks 47th on the list, Nikki is in the 17th spot and Saujani in the 20th spot.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel stands second on the list and Myanmar's Pro-Democracy leder Aung San Suu Kyi third. Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay stands 50th on the list.
Kejriwal has been honoured for his efforts to curb pollution in New Delhi through the scheme of allowing vehicles of odd and even numbers on alternate days on the city’s roads.
