New Law To Mumbai Bar & Dancers
The Maharasthra Government led by its chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken the key decision at Vidhan Bhavan related with the norms of bar dancers in the restaurants.
The legislation in this proposal of doing justice towards bar dancers have been approved.
It states that those, who dare to touch the bar dancers in the hotels and restaurants will have to pay Rs 50,000 as fine and those, who dare to throw money on bar dancers will be imprisoned for six months.
This stringent provision is envisaged in a draft Bill and it was finalised by the government.
The draft bill also said that a hefty fine of Rs. 25 lakh will be imposed on restaurant owners for carrying out illegal operation and a deadline of 11:30 pm (earlier the deadline was 2 am) has been fixed upto which it can operate.
The said decision was taken by a 25-member committee with legislators from all parties after the Supreme Court lifted the 2005 ban on dance bars a few months ago.
The draft bill stated that Women under the age of 25 would not be allowed to work as dancers.
For justice towards bar dancers, the decision said that the bar dancers should be given monthly salaries. They should also get PF and other miscellaneous benefits.
