Congress MLA Remreddy Venkatreddy passes away
Ex-minister Remreddy Venkat Reddy (72) passed away on Friday morning.
The Congress leader leaves behind wife Sucharita and four daughters.
He was Minister in the Cabinets of former chief Ministers YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy. He was a staunch supporter of the late YSR.
Five-time MLA Venkatreddy was among the few Congress MLAs who could retain their seats in the 2014 assembly elections. He was elected from Palair in Khammam district.
For some time, Venkatreddy had been ailing, and was being treated at KIMS Hospital. His health seemed to be improving, but suddenly it went for the worse. He died during the treatment at KIMS.
He was Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao condoled with the death of Venkatreddy. KCR described him as an enlightened personality who rose above controversies.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TSPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress Legislature Party leader K. Jana Reddy condoled the death.
It is said that the last rites will be performed at Patilingala village of Kamepalli mandal on Saturday
