Prabhas's brother awarded one year jail term
Baahubali fame Tollywood actor Prabhas' brother, Upplapati Prabodh, has been awarded a sentence of 1 year in jail by the Rajendranagar Magistrate Court in a cheque bounce case in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Prabodh borrowed Rs 43 lakh from Hyderabad city based businessman to complete the film.
As part of returning back the said amount, he issued a cheque. It bounced back as there was lack of funds in his account.
The matter was brought to the notice of the producer several times, but he did not respond.
Recently, once again, the matter was reported to the police by the businessman and a case was filed.
The case came up for hearing in the lower court on Tuesday.
The court awarded 1 year jail sentence on Prabodh and also ordered him to pay 80 lakh within two months from the date of the judgement.
It is to be mentioned here that Prabodh was the producer of a Prabhas film, Billa.
