Congress leader Anam Vijayakumar Reddy joins YSRCP
Nellore Congress leader Anam Vijayakumar Reddy, a member of the politically powerful Anam family and who lost Nellore (Rural ) assembly constituency in 2014,, joined the YSR Congress Party on Wednesday in presence of party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Lotus pond in Hyderabad.
YS Jagan welcomed him by offering party kanduva.
His son Karthik Reddy and few other followers also joined the party.
Reportedly Vijayakumar Reddy wants to promote his son in politics.
Karthik is likely to contest in 2019 elections, it is learnt.
The rural MLA of Nellore Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, who played key role in getting Anam into the fold of YSR Congress and MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy were also present at the event.
Addressing on the occasion, Anam Vijayakumar Reddy said that, he will work hard for further strengthening the party in the district.
He also said that many more followers of Vijaykumar Reddy are expected to join the party during YS Jagan's next visit to Nellore district.
It is to be mentioned here that last month his two brothers Anam Vivekananda Reddy and Anam Ramnarayan Reddy joined Telugu Desam party.
