HC sentences RR dist Collector to one month jail
Hyderabad, Dec 3: For the first time in the short history of Telangana, the Hyderabad High Court has sentenced the Collector of Ranga Reddy district Raghunandan Rao for four weeks jail, reports said.
The court also awarded a fine of Rs 12,000 to the Collector for failing to implement the court's order to demolish illegal constructions in Suraram Colony of Qutbullapur in RR district, reports said.
However, with Telangana's Advocate General appealing to the HC to put its judgment on hold for 30 days to enable the Collector to file an appeal, the court agreed to do so.
