SC dismisses PIL on Rahul Gandhi's citizenship
The Supreme Court has dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition filed by advocate M.L. Sharma seeking a CBI investigation into the citizenship of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
A Bench comprising of Chief Justice of India H.L. Dattu has questioned the PIL about the source and authenticity of the documents attached to petition.
It is to be mentioned here that BJP senior leader Subramanian Swamy has also made allegations that Rahul Gandhi claimed himself to be a British national before the authorities in connection with incorporation of a firm.
