India beat SA by 337 runs to win Delhi Test, sweep series 3-0
New Delhi, Dec 7: Host team India defeated South Africa by 337 runs in the fourth Test to win the series 3-0 here on Monday.
India made a huge total of 481 runs thereby giving the visitors a challenge to chase it.
But the South African team were bowled out for mere 143 runs in the final test.
It is AB de Villiers of South Africa, who was the only batsman to survive for a little longer with scores of 43 runs. He faced 297 balls to score it.
From Indian side, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the star attraction as he picked 5 wickets giving just 61 runs in 49.1 overs.
Fast bowler Umesh Yadav took 3 wickets conceding 9 runs in 21 overs, where as left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja claimed 2 wickets conceding 26 runs in 46 overs.
It is to be mentioned here that India won the first Test by 108 runs at Mohali and also won the third match by 124 runs in Nagpur.
The second test match washed off due to rain at Bengaluru.
